A group of local photography enthusiasts will be displaying a diverse selection of images from their 'Book Titles' Photo Challenge at a forthcoming event to be held at The Cafe In The Park. The exhibition takes place on Sunday 1 February and local people and visitors to Hastings are being invited to vote for their favourite image from the Challenge.

The budding photographers are all members of the Channel Hastings group on the popular photo-sharing website Flickr. It currently consists of 253 members comprising both local residents and visitors to Hastings and has approximately 6500 photos taken in Hastings and 1066 Country.

The official voting will take place from 12 to 3pm and the winner of the Challenge will be announced shortly afterwards.

Freelance photographer and organiser of the challenge Terry Russell said: "This month's 'Book Titles' theme has proven once again to be incredibly popular. We hope that local people and visitors to Hastings will feel inspired to visit us and cast their vote for their favourite photograph on Sunday."

If photography enthusiasts miss the display at the Cafe In The Park on Sunday 1 February, they will still have an opportunity to view their favourite images at 'The Channel Hastings Book Titles' exhibition at Hastings Library during the month of February.

In addition to the 'Book Titles' exhibition, individual postcards are still on sale for £1 each at The Bullet Cafe 38 Robertson Street (on the corner of Robertson Street and Claremont) as part of this year's Channel Hastings Postcard Exhibition. All proceeds from the sale of the postcards will go to the St Leonards based Sara Lee Trust.

To participate in future photo challenges all budding photographers need a Yahoo account and then to sign up to Flickr. The basic membership is free and after joining Flickr they can then join the Channel Hastings group and participate in the latest photo challenge.
