Wind Farm by Andy Wilson

Wind Farm

"As the sun was shining last Saturday I decided to put a roll of film into the Vivitar UWS so I could give the 1hr photo lab at the new Hollington Tesco a try.

I'd taken a drive and stopped off in a couple of villages when I found myself driving down the hill into Rye from the north. There, dominating the horizon in the distance was the new Romney Marsh wind farm. Trying to guess where it was I headed out on the camber road where I got a few very distant shots before doubling back and heading along the main A259. I soon came across the main entrance to the site and parked up there and took a few snaps. I didn't quite realise how small the windmills would look with the ultra-wide lens - this was my attempt to put them in the context of the marsh reeds and grasses - but I succeeded mainly in hiding them.

According to the workman on the site this was the closest you can get to the windfarm, so I'll have to return one day with a longer lens." Andy Wilson

You can get closer if you use the public footpaths that lead through the area, for this photo I walked across from Camber:
