The Bridge (Iain Banks) by Sinbadigi

The bridge - Iain Banks

"I originally spied this bridge on the way to Bexhill whilst driving. It's in the sort of location you can drive by and never notice. I didn`t think much of it until I saw a fellow Channel Hastings photo from Mr Ig. Although his shot was really good and at a different time of day with interesting light, I thought to myself that the shot would be better with a wide angle lens. I happened to be driving to West St Leonards Station but had 15 minutes to kill. I had to park a little way away but eventually made it to the bridge. The sun was close to setting and right away I noticed the great light. I changed lenses to a Sigma 10 to 20 mm and took a few shots at 11mm (17 to 18mm with the camera crop factor) both portrait and landscape. Although the landscape was really nice with strong lines to the centre edges of the photo, I preferred the portrait as the circular arches filled the frame and the strong lines were still there. The contrasting colours make the photo for me." Sinbadigi
