Ten by Barry Reid

"This image is the first shot with my shiny new iPhone. Walking around St Leonards we ended up in Harold Mews and saw this lovely, punchy, red metal door. I grabbed a couple of snaps to test the camera. Then I found a neat little app called CameraBag and ran it, the particular filter crops, vignettes and pumps up the saturation and contrast. The neat thing is you have no control over the result, it either works or doesn't...
This image was a good start and I'm now really enjoying 'iPhoneography,' the limitations of a fairly poor camera and the restricted software I have on the phone brings luck into a process which all too often gets overly polished when using all the bells and whistle of DSLRs and Photoshop." Art is the Window to Man's Soul...by Lin Gregory

"I was out on the Channel Hastings summer picnic walk through Bedgebury Pinetum and visited the disused wood shed. It was very dark in there and I found it difficult to get any good inside shots without using a high ISO, which would produce a lot of noise on the image. I saw the potential of this particular composition as a natural triptych and was drawn by the vibrancy of the newly unfurled fern leaves. I set the camera on 2.8 aperture to blur the background and a shutter speed of 30th sec to try and retain some of the detail of the frame as well as keep the shot sharp. It certainly made the extra walk worthwhile at the end of a long days rambling." Lin Gregory

I Believe I Can Fly by A Roving Eye

"This shot was a simple one to take. I was at the fun fair in Hastings with my children and I noticed the sky was looking interesting above these swings. My daughter was already in the queue for this ride, so I adjusted the shutter speed on my camera to around 1/1000 of a sec and simply waited for her to get airbourne and took about a dozen shots. On loading the images onto my computer I particularly liked this shot because of the angle of the Carousel roof and it was a bonus to see my daughter top left, whizzing behind the boy who believes he can fly..." Go Erica! by Adam Piggott

"Erica Smith is running the New York City marathon on 1 November 2009 in aid of the Sara Lee Trust, an amazing local charity that provides complementary therapy and counselling to people in palliative care.
She applied to do it because when she was training for the Hastings Half Marathon she used to imagine she was running around New York's Central Park. Parks like Alexandra Park in Hastings were very influential on the design of Central Park.
Please take a moment to sponsor Erica and you can read Erica's blog here." Adam Piggott

The Windmills Of Your Mind by Guinevereā„

Round
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that’s turning
Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of it’s face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind...
